Scout AI Product Studio (“the App”) is a Shopify application developed by Scout to help merchants generate, optimize, and manage product and collection content using AI.

This privacy policy explains how the App accesses, uses, and protects data when installed on a merchant’s Shopify store.

1. Data Access and Usage

The App may access limited store data strictly to deliver its functionality, including:

Product titles and descriptions
Collection titles and descriptions
SEO metadata fields
App configuration preferences selected by the merchant

This data is used only to generate, rewrite, translate, and optimize product and collection content.

2. AI Content Processing

When merchants use AI features:

Content is processed only when explicitly requested by the merchant.
Data is transmitted securely to third-party AI processing services.
Submitted content is not used to train AI models.
Generated content is returned directly to the merchant’s store.
No AI input or output data is retained beyond operational processing.

3. Customer Data

The App does not access or process customer personal information, including names, emails, addresses, or payment details.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Only minimal operational data required for feature delivery and billing is stored.
Temporary processing data is automatically discarded after completion.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may utilize third-party AI and infrastructure providers solely to perform requested processing tasks.
These providers are prohibited from using merchant data for any other purpose.
